Big Kahuna

FOUNDATION

Mission

To honor the Dick Morris legacy by enabling all girls to participate in sports in a safe and supportive environment.

In 2021, a group of Orange County Wrestling Officials hosted a girls wrestling tournament to memorialize one of the organization's founders and long time high school coach and official, Dick Morris, aka, "The Big Kahuna." The Big Kahuna Foundation (formerly Dick Morris Memorial Foundation) was later born and continues to support the safety and accessibility of all girls sports. Proceeds from all events and programs are allocated to local Southern California girls sports teams to provide uniforms, equipment, tournament fees, travel, lodging and more.

Big Kahuna Classic Girls Wrestling Tournament

One of the toughest tournaments in the state, with top CIF caliber teams competing every year. A nonprofit event to benefit girls wrestling in honor of long time coach, official and mentor, the late Dick Morris - aka “The Big Kahuna.”

Impact

Most of us in the local high school sports community remember Richard Morris, who taught and coached for 38 years and influenced countless student’s lives. In his honor, the Big Kahuna Foundation was created and hosts a girls wrestling tournament each year to raise funds for girls sports.

Over the last two years, the foundation has been proud to support schools and individual athletes with over $13,000 in grants.

The "Big Kahuna" Legacy
